Taking a wholistic approach, WhizCom Marketing starts each assignment by working with the client to get the story, which is written, edited, illustrated, designed and, if necessary, reworked till it’s just right. Once it’s OK’d, our team then distributes the information across all traditional and social media platforms in Ventura, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties – and beyond, if appropriate – and we follow up when requested. Our job isn’t done till our client says it’s done.
All WhizCom Marketing associates are college-educated, highly professional journalists, public relations specialists, digital marketers, photographers and graphic artists with more than a century of collective experience working in traditional media, new media, web design, photography, graphic design and drone artistry.
Cindy Daly
Owner/Graphic Artist
With the WhizCom Marketing organization since the ’90s, Cindy is an advanced and accredited graphic designer and an expert in everything, with an especially rare eye for detail in all things digital. Since taking the helm in 2024, Cindy and her team have begun working to rebuild and rebrand Whisenhunt Communications into WhizCom Marketing, a locally focused, full-service operation.
Brendan Daly
Owner/Photographer/Videographer
A longtime professional photographer with a degree in marketing management, Brendan has honed his skills in all areas over the past decade with the WhizCom Marketing organization and particularly since becoming a co-owner in 2024. Brendan also is an experienced videographer and a licensed drone artist with a gift for always seeing the big picture.
Kyle Knapp
Owner/Digital Strategist
As a longtime regional marketing wizard, Kyle brings a wealth of knowledge and proficiency to his new role as a co-owner of WhizCom Marketing. In the five years since he joined our team, Kyle has steadily upgraded both WhizCom’s and our clients’ public exposure through website upgrades, social media, SEO and business management.
Ken Maryanski
Writer/Editor
Ken is a veteran newspaper editor with more than 35 years of experience, including 20 years at the Ventura County Star. He joined Whisenhunt/WhizCom Marketing in 2022. His past editorial work has included directing coverage of public safety, education, breaking news and local government as well as serving as opinion page editor. Ken holds degrees in English and journalism.
Amy Bentley
Writer/Editor
Amy came to Whisenhunt/WhizCom Marketing in 2002, after an illustrious career in news journalism, primarily covering the legal system, and many years as a marketing specialist with a long list of clients and a vast range of subject knowledge. Amy holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in mass communication/media studies from UC Santa Barbara.
Julie Price
Writer/Editor
An award-winning journalist with more than 30 years of experience, including 12 years as features editor of the Ventura County Star, Julie also spent many years in public relations and corporate communications for national restaurant chains. She has worked on the Whisenhunt/WhizCom Marketing team for more than 20 years.
